John Muuss, Photographic Artist, Inc. is a multi award-winning photographer. He specializes in Architectural and Commercial photography and local photographic art, including landscapes, seascapes, flowers, nature, black & white and sepia photography. John is a member of The International Association of Architectural Photographers, the Association of Independent Architectural Photographers and the Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce. John also sells the rights to use his local photographic art for various forms of advertising.
John started as a freelance photographer in 1958 working in New York City, and then as a photographer for a three-year tour of duty in the US Army. After his enlistment was up, John went to work in a Park Avenue studio in New York City specializing in architectural, art and sculpture photography. John studied under the great master photographer Adolph Studley, and worked for such notable clients as the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York, Willem & Elaine de Kooning and Jasques Lipchitz. John also previously worked with Southport Magazine as a contributing photographer & writer for approximately four years and has resided in the Southport area for about 8 years.
